CJSC “Gorizont” is a founder of the museum “Russian Valenki”.
The museum and its exposition constitute a manifestation of love and cordial attitude to the ancient felting industry of the Head of the Board of Directors of CJSC “Gorizont” » Timoshchenko Viktor Mikhaylovich. In December 2001 the Museum started functioning, presenting to its first visitors a real Russian merry holiday. The guests were welcomed by a brown bear dancing with valenki in his claws. The artists of a folklore group amused the visitors with chastooshkas and involved them into a merry khorovod. This event was widely highlighted in mass media, and the first people to write their congratulations to the Museum in the book of comments were the 1st deputy mayor of Moscow L. I. Shevtsova and major of the city of Kazan K. Iskhakov. With the interest of people in their national culture still growing, due to various activity, the Museum has gained popularity over these years. Every day the Museum is visited by 10 - 120 people. Up to 30 excursions are held per month. Every year the Museum participates in the festival “Buy Russian goods” at VVTs, in the festival “Valenki on snow” in Rublevka, in the “Fair of crafts” in Ismailovsk Kreml. Exposition of the Museum is sometimes presented in topical exhibitions: ”Valenki and fashion” - 2008, Fund of Folk Crafts of the RF, ”Russian wonder” - 2007, “All-Russia Exhibition Center” (AREC), ”Razguliay” - 2003, AREC.
Since 2007, the Museum is a member of the International Union of Museums ICOM. |
